My Candle Business Story began in April 2005 and has been a journey of learning, growth, new friends and experiences. I know it will be the same for you once you join us and create your own Candle Business Story.

While my business began in 2005, my search for the right home based business for me began early in my early adulthood. I am sure most of you who are reading this likewise have an entrepreneurial spirit. And YOU are exactly who I would love to talk to about our opportunity and what it can do for you, your family and your finances.

My name is Dawn Mathisen. I live on the Southwest Florida Gulf Coast outside of Fort Myers with my son Trevor (who is officially called my "Candle Assistant"). I love my business and am passionate about what I do...our business is about so much more than just a candle! It's about people! It's about sharing not only the light of our candles but the possibility for the average person changing their life for the better. It's about people being able to gain their independence, becoming more free both time-wise and financially. It's about realizing the dream of self employment and becoming a business owner. The nice part about our business is it costs a fraction of what a traditional brick and mortar business would cost to get started. Sounds like a dream doesn't it?

This is happening for many with our company and it can happen for you too! I can assure you this isn't a bunch of fluff or hype you hear from most home based business opportunities, Network Marketing or MLM type companies. It is VERY REAL! What makes it even sweeter is it's attainable and achievable by the average person. I know this because I consider myself the average person. There is nothing special about me or my situation or any success I've achieved with this company. As you read you might even share some of the dreams I had, the frustrations I've felt and the desire I had to own a successful business from home. The only thing that made it happen was I believe in myself and what I am doing and I have worked to build my business by sharing it with others who see the same opportunity I saw when I first looked at this company.

I have always thought "there was a better way". Meaning I have had great jobs and experiences in my life but never really found my niche. My niche being something I could do for a living that I was 100% committed to and passionate about. Everyone has to work in some way unless you are independently wealthy. Right? Statistics prove time and again that the people who build wealth own their own business. To me the wealth they accumulate (depending on the business) can go far beyond material wealth - but great things everyone would love to have like more time with family, more freedom to work when they want and play when they want and more flexibility with scheduling and all the other things that go along with traditional employment.

I discovered our products and opportunity in 2005 as a single mom struggling with finances, schedules, child care and wanting more than anything to strike a balance between time spent working and time spent with my son. At the time I was a Helping Teacher in the Head Start program. I loved working with the children and it was very rewarding to me but at the same time meant time away from my most important teaching job which is being a mother to my young son (who at the time was about the age of my Head Start kids).

When I left Corporate America in my son's toddlerhood I was convinced it was a good decision because working for the school district I would have the same hours as him, same days off etc. Finances and single parenthood changed that fast as I wound up working a part time job at a Department Store to make ends meet. Again trading time away from my son for money.

Over the years I'd tried many home business opportunities with mediocre success. This was far from my first venture into that arena. I had been in skin care, cosmetics, nutrition, family savings plans, gold jewelry and home decor. Not to fault any of those companies, nor will I name them. All I can say is they didn't work for me. In some cases I really didn't believe in what I was doing when I look back. Or there was something about the company or it's marketing plan that I felt was a drawback. Let's just say there was always something that wasn't my "true fit" and leave it at that.

In 2001 when my son was a baby I was still in Corporate America and was involved in a Direct Sales venture - which I "retired" from as I put it. With that plan the best way to make money was to do home parties and with an infant at home I was hardly excited about leaving him after a 9+ hour day at my full time job. Not to say it wasn't a great company but I didn't find it offered the flexibility I needed as a single mom.

So there I was in 2005 with a full time teaching job, a part time job and once again entertaining the idea of owning a home based business. I had made up my mind that this time I was going to search until I found the "true fit" opportunity in my life. The one that offered me options, flexibility, freedom from quotas or pressure, multiple income streams and just all around would be what I would have liked to see in my previous experiences.

In doing a tremendous amount of research I found my sponsors online. Being a Candle Lover my whole life, the prospect of a candle business naturally appealed to me. I invesitagated the company and all the findings were good. I was full of questions and talked to my sponsors several times. I tried the products and was amazed by the quality of the candles...and I fell in love with them. I made my commitment in April 2005 that this was the business for me!

I genuinely love what I do and our business for me has been life changing. I am not going to say I am making all the money I could ever want. Nor am I going to tell you I'm a top gun income earner in my company because I am not. But I am HAPPY in my business and it has steadily grown over the months and years I've been with the company. I am going to be very realistic with you because as I told you I believe the average person can succeed with our business. I didn't come to this business with loads of positive experiences, big contact lists and being a retail salesperson extraordinaire. But I did have the desire to make something that would create a future for myself and my son and was willing to stick to it and keep growing.

I came to this business with a passion and belief that by taking baby steps I could form a future and a business. When I saw our company I saw a real future over time. It's not a get rich quick thing or a fast burn Network Marketing plan by any means!

What we offer is a fantastic product in an alternative plant/vegetable wax candle that out performs most traditional candles. It burns cleaner and more evenly with no black sooty mess. As a candle fan naturally I loved that and as do our customers.

But what we offer is something more and you don't even have to be a great candle lover right now to enjoy it! We offer an opportunity for the average person to succeed and change their life without breaking the family bank. This success is not instant, there is work, growth, setbacks, triumphs and everything that goes along with owning any small business venture! But it is so worth it!

Our company offers a great product line for retail sales coupled with a business opportunity that you can start for about $50 a month. Without breaking the family bank, free of high quotas or autoshipments. It's the same program for everyone - meaning everyone is on an even playing field. Today I am full time into my Candle Business. In 2006 I quit the part time job. I left my teaching job in 2007. Not because I was making tons of money but because I was making enough money from this business to make me feel comfortable with that. My goal when I started was to replace the income I was making OUTSIDE of the home with income I could make INSIDE the home so I could be with my son. After a few years of work, my income steadily grows as my customer base and team of distributors does. No one is driving my paycheck but me and I kind of like that feeling! It's been a dream come true in my life and I'm excited about what the future holds for us!

Today I am here for my son when he needs me. I drive him to and pick him up at the bus stop. I can volunteer in his classroom whenever I want to. I make my own schedule. I can work just about anywhere I have a computer and phone line. I can take a day off without anyone getting upset with me. I can work in my shorts and t-shirt most of the time. How is that for flexibility?
